Higher Gasoline Prices Are Causing Job Losses

Danny Gilmore clearly understands that high gasoline prices are forcing Central Valley families to reduce spending on such necessities as food and clothing.  Worse, people are losing their jobs as businesses suffer from high energy bills and reduced consumer spending.

That’s why Danny Gilmore will push for a new energy policy that promotes more oil drillling and the expansion of other technologies that include biofuels, liquefied natural gas, solar and wind.  Our jobs and our economy should never again be at the mercy of foreign oil.

Expand Career and Technical Education

Danny Gilmore will push to expand career and technical education for students who choose a path other than college so they secure highly skilled and good-paying jobs.  And, he believes every student must read, write and speak English so that everyone has an equal opportunity to compete in the demanding 21st century job market.

With school drop-out rates as high as 60% in some of our south Central Valley schools, we can count on Danny Gilmore to fight against those Los Angeles and San Francisco politicians who keep stealing our fair share of school funding.

Water Is the Lifeblood of Our Central Valley

With too many crops dying on the vine and getting plowed under because of depleted water resources, no one is more committed than Danny Gilmore to building more reservoirs and water delivery projects.  After all, he knows more water storage will protect our local economy and provide a safe, clean water supply.

Plus, Danny Gilmore will not only stand up for our way of life by battling those radical environmentalists who use the courts to hijack our water supply, but he’ll also protect our agricultural property rights and fight for more local community flood protection.

Never Allow the Early Release of Prisoners

After protecting our communities for 31 years as an officer and a commander in the California Highway Patrol, we can count on Danny Gilmore to lead the charge against any plan to release convicts before they complete their prison sentences.  And, his law enforcement expertise will help keep our youngsters from joining street gangs.

Danny Gilmore not only supports the Safe Neighborhoods initiative that funds local law enforcement and targets drug dealers, but he’ll be a respected voice against those liberal legislators who want to weaken “Three Strikes, You’re Out” – the important law that punishes violent thugs.

Tax Hikes Will Only Hurt Working Families

As a strong fiscal conservative, Danny Gilmore knows state revenues have increased by 40% in the last four years while spending has jumped a whopping 44%.  So, the Sacramento politicians have had plenty of money, but they’ve failed to set aside a “rainy day” reserve for when times are tough.

With the cost of living already hurting hard-working taxpayers, we can count on Danny Gilmore to vote against hiking our taxes.  Just like our families, he believes government must tighten its belt and set priorities so that vital services are protected for those who need a helping hand.

Let’s Provide Affordable, Quality Health Care

With health care costs spiraling out of control, Danny Gilmore knows that too many Central Valley families can’t afford adequate medical coverage and that’s a particularly serious problem for those people suffering from poor air quality.

Danny Gilmore supports tax deductions for small businesses that offer employee health care coverage, favors allowing individuals to carry their health insurance between jobs, supports income tax deductions for all medical expenses, backs opening markets to better insure access to coverage and wants more community-based health care clinics.
