California Farm Bureau
Endorses Danny Gilmore For Assembly
6/23/08
Public safety advocate and retired California Highway Patrol officer
Danny Gilmore has earned the California Farm Bureau Federation's
endorsement for election to the 30th Assembly District.
A Marine veteran, Gilmore has served his country and community with
distinction during his 31-year career with the California Highway
Patrol. Before retiring in 2003, Gilmore's final promotion was to
Assistant Chief to the Central Division Headquarters in Fresno.
"Danny Gilmore has a distinguished history of public service and
continues to support causes that matter to family farmers and ranchers,"
California Farm Bureau President Doug Mosebar said. "He understands key
issues in our state's agricultural communities and his experience in law
enforcement gives him a unique perspective on combating rural crime."
The 30th Assembly District encompasses Kings County and portions of
Fresno, Tulare and Kern counties, each of which is among California's
top agricultural producing counties.
"Danny Gilmore recognizes the importance of working together to
address issues surrounding our state's current water crisis," Mosebar
said. "And he acknowledges the rising problem of metal theft on our
family farms and ranches and the need for swift solutions."
Gilmore seeks to replace Assemblymember Nicole Parra, D-Hanford, who
has served in the Assembly since 2002.
The California Farm Bureau Federation, the state's largest farm
organization, works to protect family farms and ranches on behalf of
92,000 members statewide.
